In 2021 alone, Malaysia recorded over 20,000 cyber crime cases with losses amounting to RM560 million. These included hacking, phishing, and e-mail frauds, among others. As we grow increasingly reliant on digital technology, the need for strong cybersecurity is more critical than ever.

For our first in-person event in Southern Malaysia after COVID-19, our team, including Group Chief Executive Officer, Ramlee Abdullah, was present to welcome our guests. We also partnered with cybersecurity experts (GroupIB, IBM, and Stratus Technologies), who presented latest solutions and best approaches to help businesses strengthen their defence against these emerging threats.

GroupIB Regional Sales Director, Darrent Ng, shared insights on the current landscape and challenges in APAC. By understanding these threats, businesses can optimise their defences against them. GroupIB’s suite of globally accredited solutions detects and prevents cyberattacks, online fraud and IP protection.

IBM representative, Cheah Shu Yi, spoke about building cyber resilience with IBM Cyber Vault. In the event of a security breach, the solution not only detects attacks, but also helps with quick recovery of compromised data, reducing recovery time from days to just hours.

Stratus Technologies Regional Sales Director, Xyvier Goh, demonstrated the use of Stratus solutions which comes with features designed to help non-security experts easily secure their computing systems.
