Microlink Solutions Berhad has announced the appointment of two new Board Members with Dato’ Seri Mohd Khairi Bin Dato’ Mat Jahya joining as Non-Independent Non-Executive Director and Dato’ Sri Chee Hong Leong, JP, joining as Independent Non-Executive Director.

 

As noted by Chia Yong Wei, Group CEO of Microlink, these two appointments further broaden the expertise and industry sector knowledge provided by the Board. “We are honoured that Dato’ Seri Mohd Khairi and Dato’ Sri Chee have agreed to join our Board,” he said. “Their combined expertise and experience from their respective fields will bring outstanding breadth and depth of knowledge to Microlink.  We look forward to working with them both and expanding our reach.”

 

Dato Seri’ Mohd Khairi is an experienced entrepreneur and seasoned businessman in various industries, including IT services, import/export, property development, and travel and insurance services.  Fluent in Arabic, he plays a key role in fostering strong business relations between Malaysian and Middle Eastern companies. His established connections with Government sectors mean that he has been in the forefront of development and investment dealings with some of Malaysia’s biggest and most respected institutions, including Tabung Haji and other government-related agencies.

 

In 2011, he founded MKM Ticketing Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd, handling Umrah and Hajj arrangements and becoming the Tabung Haji operator for Hajj (Pengelola Jemaah Haji Tabung Haji), as well as providing inbound and outbound travel services.

 

Since 2016, he has served as Executive Director of Prima ArenaNiaga Sdn Bhd, a company he founded to provide Core System Services to Banking & Government Agencies, as well as the provision of Storage & Cloud Computing and Computer Networking services. Since 2015, he has served as Director of MKM Solutions Sdn Bhd, a consultancy for implementation of XBRL systems and ERP implementation for Government Agencies.

 

In 2015, he also founded the Al-Khairi Group Berhad and serves as CEO, setting up joint ventures with other development companies to embark on new housing projects and acquire land banks for future development projects.

 

A dedicated philanthropist who is committed to helping Malaysians rise out of poverty, he is the Founder and Chairman of Yayasan Mohd Khairi, a charity organisation for underprivileged children.

 

Dato Sri Chee is a veteran in the leisure, property development and furniture/boards sectors. He began his career in 1990 coordinating the development in corporate and annual strategic plans for Leisure Holidays Group of Companies. In 1992, he ventured into various businesses in the property development sector, becoming CEO of Canary Homes Sdn Bhd and Canary Infoport Sdn Bhd.

 

In 1998, he joined Tanco Resort Berhad where until 2002, he held various positions from General Manager to Executive Director/Chief Operating Officer.

 

In March 2003, he joined SYF Resources Bhd, a furniture, boards and property development firm, initially as a member of the Board of Directors and was subsequently appointed as Executive Director in 2011.

 

Dato’ Sri Chee has also served as Independent Director on the Boards of various organisations in the Palm Oil, Timber and Building Materials business, as well as the Education and Healthcare sectors.

 

He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Computer) in 1987 and a Master of Business Administration in 1989, both from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.
